Snow hits flights

Flights at Newcastle Airport have been affected by the heavy snow today, which has been falling across the North East. Several flights were cancelled, with others subject to delays.
A spokesman for the airport said: ‘Weather conditions in the region affected a number of departing and arriving flights. Many operated as normal, however, there were a number of cancellations and diversions.’
