easyJet cut flights, remove planes

easyJet is to axe routes and reduce the number of planes it operates from Newcastle Airport. The airline is axing its winter services from Newcastle to Murcia and Rome, as well as lowering the flight frequency on a number of other routes.
It will also only base 3 planes at the airport, compared to the current 5. This includes for its summer routes next year, which implies a big reduction in services compared to this summer season.
A spokesman for the airport said the reductions are offset by other airlines boosting the services they provide from Newcastle. Jet2 recently announced it will launch flights to Toulouse, Alicante and Faro, as well as bringing back services to Krakow and Prague.
