Flybe announce Hanover flights
06.12.09
A new route has been announced linking Exeter with Newcastle Airport and on to Hanover in Germany. Regional budget airline Flybe will launch the flights on March 31 next year.
Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said that friends and relatives of armed forces personnel based in northern Germany are likely to make up a big part of passenger numbers on the route, following the success of other Flybe services between Hanover and the UK. He said: ‘Because of the large armed forces concentration in Hanover, we have built a good business getting family and friends over there to visit.'
As well as tourists, business travellers will make up much of the remainder of passengers because Hanover has a strong light manufacturing base as well as a operating as a conference centre.
