80,000 viagra tables siezed

80,000 illegally imported tablets were seized by UK Border Agency officers at Newcastle Airport late last week. The Sildenafil tablets - which can be sold as viagra - were seized by officers carrying out checks on cargo being transported by secure road freight to Newcastle, having initially been flown to Heathrow from Mumbai, India.
The cargo was described as food additives, but an examination revealed the tablets to be viagra. It is not known whether the tablets are genuine or counterfeit. A high proportion of drugs illegally imported are fake.
