Police seek Ibiza robery victims
15.10.10
Police at Newcastle Airport are trying to trace holidaymakers who had expensive items stolen in Ibiza this summer. A couple were stopped at the airport with a range of goods including iPods, cameras and watches, which the police think were stolen from hotel rooms on the holiday island.
Some of the cameras have photographs of weddings and holiday snaps. It is hoped that people who have returned from Ibiza will be able to identify the stolen property, which could see it returned and the couple charged for the thefts.
PC Garry Stephenson said: ‘We have reason to believe that these items were stolen from holidaymakers in Ibiza between June 1 and August 4. We are working with the authorities in Spain on any crimes that may have been committed to trace the owners of these items.’
