Airport is most punctual for charter flights

Newcastle Airport boasts the UK's best punctuality for holiday charter flights, according to the latest figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). 85% of its charter flights departed on time in the first quarter of 2009, compared with a national average of 68%
Scheduled flights from the airport also outperformed the national average, with 82% departing on time, a significant improvement in flight punctuality to the same period last year. Delays on charter flights were also less than half that of the 10 other surveyed airports.
