Airport opens world cup lounge

Passengers travelling through Newcastle Airport during the current world cup can make sure they do not miss a goal. The airport has opened a dedicated World Cup Lounge in the departures area, with a 65 inch plasma TV to televise every live game and repeat highlights. A special bar will even serve soft drinks, snacks and a selection of alcoholic drinks.
Gill Caleary, Commercial Director at Newcastle Airport, said: ‘We wanted to create a space for passengers to enjoy the World Cup in style. However, we are urging fans not to get too engrossed in the football and miss their flight!’
