easyJet base bigger plane at Newcastle
18.01.12
easyJet will increase capacity on eight routes from Newcastle Airport, after announcing that it will base a 150-seat Airbus A320 at the airport, replacing an existing 124-seat A319 currently used on routes to Malta, Majorca, Paris, Bristol, Alicante, Malaga, Barcelona and Belfast. The move will mean up to 13,000 more passengers on its flights to / from Newcastle this year.
Hugh Aitken, easyJet commercial manager, said: ‘As a result of increased demand we are replacing an Airbus A319 with an Airbus A320 to provide additional seats for our loyal passengers. This demonstrates our commitment to growth at Newcastle Airport. Passengers will find it even easier to jet off and soak up the sun or city culture with additional seats on flights to favourites including Malta, Majorca, Paris and Bristol on offer.’
