As the schools break up and the busy summer holiday season starts, Newcastle Airport has revealed the top 10 destinations for people flying out of the city - Spanish sun destinations dominating the charts. The top 3 destinations are all from the sun-soaked country, which has 6 destinations in the top 10.
Each week this summer around 115,000 passengers will travel via the airport to or from 80 destinations, accounting for 200 departures and arrivals every day. Palma, Malaga and Alicante make up the top 3 slots in the destinations chart, but passengers are also opting to head to resorts in Turkey and all-inclusive packages in Egypt and Dubai.
