The former BA computer specialist convicted of plotting with the American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki to carry out terrorist attacks and of fundraising to support terrorist activities has been jailed for 30 years.
Rajib Karim, 31, originally from Bangladesh, was convicted last month of four counts of preparing for acts of terrorism. He had already pleaded guilty to five other terrorist related charges, but denied plotting an attack in the UK. Justice David Calvert-Smith recommended that he be deported after completing his sentence.
