More delays for Flyjet passengers
19.08.07
Flyjet stranded more than 220 passengers at Newcastle Airport when their flight to Tenerife was delayed for more than 12 hours on Friday. The problem came after a number of recent delays for the airline, which has announced it will stop flying in October.
A Flyjet plane was due to leave Newcastle for Tenerife at 07:00 on Friday, but was grounded due to a fuel line fault. After repairs it eventually took off at 20:00. The problems mean that Friday's 19:00 departure from Newcastle to Crete did not leave until Saturday morning, with passengers spending the night at an airport hotel.
