Airport issues swine flu update

Due to recent press reports regarding swine flu and air travel, including that some airlines including BA and Virgin are banning passengers with flu like symptoms from flights, Newcastle Airport has issued a swine flu update. The airport has said that it would like to reassure passengers that there are no new health procedures in place, and that it is currently very much business as usual.
A spokesman said that Newcastle Airport has well established health procedures, which would be activated if needed. It will continue to take advice and guidance from all relevant government agencies in regards to receiving suspected swine flu cases.
