Thomas Cook will add a fourth aircraft to its Newcastle Airport base next summer. The extra plane means it can reintroduce flights to Bourgas in Bulgaria, as well as add extra flights to other holiday destinations including Paphos, Larnaca, Dalaman, Izmir, Mahon, Ibiza, Palma and Tenerife.
The new plane will allow the holiday company to offer 70,000 extra seats during the summer season, taking the total number of seats available to around 300,000. Ian Derbyshire, chief executive officer at Thomas Cook UK, said: ‘This underlines our commitment to the North East and to Newcastle Airport. The region has always been strong for us and we see that continuing.’
