Emirates cuts fares by 20%

Emirates is reducing its fares by up to 20%, the Echo reports. The Dubai-based airline, which flies from Newcastle Airport, said it is slashing fares due to the recent reduction in oil prices. It is believed to be the first airline to introduce such a measure, particularly to longhaul destinations. However, with oil prices making a record one day gain yesterday, the price reduction could quickly be reversed!
Emirates is cutting up to 20% off flights to destinations in Australasia, South Africa, China and the Far East, all of which are accessed by North-East tourist and business travellers using Dubai as a stop-off point.
