A drug dealer has been jailed after being caught with 2.4kg of cocaine - after he accidentally locked himself in his own car at a Newcastle Airport car park, the Northern Echo reports. Dean Gilmore was trapped in his car at the airport in January after his battery went flat, making the central locking inactive.
Airport staff helped re-start the car to free him, but called the police who searched the Vauxhall Omega and found £90,000 worth of cocaine in a bag in the boot. The 25-year-old, from Byron Court, in Swalwell, Gateshead, was jailed for 3 years and 4 months this week after pleading guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
