Light aircraft makes emergency landing
27.04.07
A light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Newcastle Airport last night after one of its engines failed. The Fokker 27, carrying two people, returned to the airport shortly after takeoff to attempt a landing.
Emergency services were scrambled when the aircraft's pilot radioed the airport shortly after taking off last night. He managed to land under the power of its second engine and no-one was injured.
